Primer Five

A pair of hands wash themselves under the faucet of a gorgeous hotel-style sink.

Now that you know to apply chap stick, drink a large glass of water, and exercise for thirty minutes daily – and you also know to sit or stand with excellent posture – let’s move on to our fifth habit: clean under your nails thoroughly every morning.  I want you to clean out your nails meticulously every morning as you groom yourself.  Get under those nails with soap and get out the dirt. Dirty nails are a dead give away that you aren’t polished (unless you happen to be gardening or digging a grave at the time), so make a point of this. It doesn’t need to take you long–perhaps a minute.

This is the fifth day of our primer, and I think that we’re doing a great job. At the end of about a month, we’ll have the foundations for a morning routine, an evening routine, and a set of daily deportment skills. If you’re just joining us, hop back to the first primer lesson.  I want you to start at the beginning and work through the lessons one by one, day by day. We’re building habits here, so shortcuts are extremely counterproductive.

Did you apply chap stick today? 1 point for you!

Did you drink a big glass of water this morning? 1 point for you!

Did you pay special attention to your posture throughout the day? 1 point for you!

Did you exercise for thirty minutes? 1 point for you!

Did you clean underneath your nails thoroughly? 1 point for you!

It’s possible to earn 5 points today. Post your score in the comments; I’ll do the same.

Thanks for the comment I appreciate it. I really like what you have going on here and plan to subscribe.

  2. I received 5 points for the day! I got my exercise point by playing Dance Central on the Kinect, and that was a lot of fun.

  3. I may be more polished than I thought. Or years of hairdressing has led to a compulsiveness about clean hands. *:)
